About Me

I’m Claire McCurdy, a writer and disability advocate based in Melbourne, Australia.

My current writing includes a memoir, a practical guide to disability advocacy and a children’s picture book.

I enjoy writing nonfiction, particularly about things that matter to me.

Disability advocacy has become an important part of my life. After nearly twenty years of navigating disability services and systems on behalf of my son, I’ve become more involved in speaking up about the issues affecting people with disability and their families.
